24-29 "Catskills By Foot," a program combining hiking and outdoor photography, will be held September 24-29. The Catskill Mountains are home to hundreds of miles of pristine alpine hiking trails, and some of the most gorgeous vistas in the eastern US. Participants will enjoy a week of hiking and education as they hit the trails of the Catskill State Forest Preserve to strengthen their bodies and enhance their photography skills. Frost Valley's professional photography instructor will join the group on the trail to point out the finer points of outdoor picture-taking. From photo subject to composition, and from matting to framing, group members will learn ways to enhance and improve their photography skills and knowledge. Daily hikes will range from 4-6 miles and length and will be limited to less than 1,000 feet in total elevation gain. Hikers/photographers will be required to provide their own photography equipment. Both digital and traditional photo equipment is acceptable. Enrollment for all of these programs is limited to 22 participants on a first come, first served basis. Guests will be housed in Frost Valley's Straus Center, an historic inn located 14 miles from main camp. Gourmet wellness cuisine, served on premises. All rooms feature private baths.
