Our story and commitment to youth

At Changing Colors, we are dedicated to providing compassionate, barrier-free social services to at-risk youth in Dayton, Ohio. Learn about our inspiration, our mission, and the values that guide our work every day.

Our inspiration: A lasting legacy

Changing Colors exists to honor the life and legacy of Quintin Rashard-Jmarr Forest. Quintin faced immense struggles from a young age, experiencing exploitation, drug addiction, and homelessness between the ages of 13 and 21. His desire to help others avoid the same path was profound. He asked me to help him start this organization, and though he sadly passed away before we opened our doors, his selfless spirit lives on through every action we take.

Meeting them where they are

Our core values center around empathy and genuine connection. We believe it's essential to meet young people exactly where they are in their journey. We actively listen, ensuring their voices are heard and valued. We walk alongside them through every season of change, offering unwavering support and guidance as they navigate challenges toward safer, healthier futures.

Providing immediate support

We provide immediate, crucial support to at-risk youth who have experienced or are vulnerable to exploitation, substance use, or homelessness. Our services include safe drop-in facilities, basic necessities, nourishing food, hygiene products, and assistance in obtaining vital identification documents. Our goal is to restore dignity, stability, and hope, helping young people move forward.

"Changing Colors is more than an organization; it's a lifeline for young people in need. Their dedication to supporting youth in Dayton is truly inspiring."
